pls correct the Tracklisting here on 1gabba, it's weird here.
The Playah Remix is the best out of all the remixes across 3 packs. Production Level is awesome and retains the classic Promo sound while modernising it. Armageddon Project and The Silence remixes also great. Bizzarely the Markor remix is the worst of all the remixes and does not belong on this release or any releases, his tracks are terrible no idea how he gets released on TTM.
Agreed... Playah remix is also my favorite. Nosferatu is also very good imo.
Fuck the Rumours & Rebel Dizz
What a couple of remixes!
Hardcore is back?
Well, if you gonna title these three-pronged releases "file remixes" than you better make sure all tracks are from the "files" in the first place.
1) 'Fuck the rumours' is from a release on Samurai Records.
2) 'My claim to fame' is from "Promo type 004".
3) 'Escape from the hostile" is basicly the title of "Promo file 010A". The track with that name got released later on "Promo type 001".
4) 'Silence is dangerous' is from "Promo type 007".
5) 'Represent by example' is from "Promo type 005".
There were plenty more opportunities within the spirit of the "files" as a replacement for the 5 above mentioned tracks:
- System feedback
- Driven by instinct
- What u want
- Chaos in the flesh
- My recipe for disaster
- Procurer of the cure
- Virgin territory
Also there are 2 tracks explusive to the vinyl & CD releases being the Paul Elstak & Void Settler remixes. Reason for this?
I don't get why it's only stuff from the files that get's glorified into oblivion:
Repressing of all "Promo files" back in 2005-2006, 2023 version of 'Last men standing' and now these remixes.
Don't get me wrong, the original stuff from the files deserve all the praise in the world as it was so revolutionary but why isn't the spotlight never on his work that came later; the Promo type's & tracks from 2002-2004 to be more precise.
Stuff like 'Brother of conflict', 'Someone to hate', 'Messin' with yo mind', 'The new revolution', 'Message to the majors', 'I called you', 'Call me by my name' and both ghost-produced tracks 'DJ Adrien - No competition' & 'Miss Flower - Trash talking' are, at least in my eyes, as revolutionary as the files.
His sound was so unique back then that my mind is kinda "hungry" to see this period receiving some love and appreciation in the form of a re-release of some kind ( but DJ friendly stuff unlike the crossover tracks from the CD 'Never compromise' ) or a remixing project like this.
But that's all personal taste...
