Well that went fast

Can someone justify me downloading an edit when there is extended / original mix available?
Like in what situation would anyone prefer the edit? I mean i get it if that's the only thing available (freely esp.), but if both are availabe, why would anyone ever choose the edit?

Serious question.

My guess is that most people are not DJ's and they don't want to listen to the 30 second DJ intro of the track.

Back in the vinyl days you just had a song and that was it. Sure, on compilations edited versions were used, but the song was the song. The extended version as it is often labeled is actually the original version. A cut o radio version is the actual edit.

I prefer to have the full experience, as it was intended to be.
It's like a movie theatretical version vs director's cut

Some hardstyle DJs nowadays don't mix the tracks, just play them one-by-one.
I think no intro/outro version is actually original for them and they extend it for someone who wants.

It is a greedy cash grab by labels and artists, so you buy it twice. That is all

I like your cynicism
