Check out the interview Endymion did recently. It was about their 20 years anniversary. One of the subjects was: why did they leave hardcore, and move to hardstyle. Their reasons:

A. Hardcore was moving away from what it was when they started out. Their sound was "millenium hardcore". They did not like this new trend of keeping going harder and faster

B. (Raw) hardstyle now has the same tempo as when they started producing hardcore. That sound would be something they liked.

So, they chose to follow their hearts, not their wallets. They actually could have made more money in the hardcore scene. And their current sound has many similarities to millenium hardstyle.

And, to answer your question: If he wants to, he should. But Viper has been doing lots of different stuff in the past few years. He even released a jump track. He's doing lot's of freestyle these days.

Viper is been playing many styles for many years now (HC, HS, Hip Hop, DnB, HHC, techno/trance). I have seen him play it all. I think he is one of the first stop thinking and playing in 'boxes'. Old Skool mofo from Utreg.

I've got stuff from Endymion that was considered to be hard trance from back in 99. Why would people expect that these great fucking artists would expect to be genrebound for.... so silly I say
