Not the 1st release that got this kind of quality, many recent ones got the same sad picture. But it's they were and mp3s do match lossless versions - not UKHx/wAx to blame, they get the releases when they are still in beatport exclusive status and mp3s are encoded typically for this shop.
So much for "evolution", lol.
Just out of interest what is that program in the pictures and what do the pictures actually mean, what is the difference ?
The first indicates a cut off of 15khz which means it's really a 128 kbps file that says "320"
the other sheet is what a real "320" should and does look like a cut off of 20 khz. Which of course is on the same label and was mastered by the same person... and the file that showed a cut off of 20 khz was from an old dat machine from the 90's and this new bass x file is from now lol, one thing I can say is Evolution records did not sell a web ripped file, I can tell you that much.
Spek, a better more accurate program is Audacity, but, Spek is good to use for a back up. and there is literature and table sheets which will prove whether a file is fake or not.
The Spek sheet indicates this file is fake, you can go even further with Audacity which will give you the real answer, and I don't need to do that because I can tell just by listening to it that it's fake.
But check for yourself.
Thank you for the reply. I worked it out eventually, never seen that stuff before - interesting.
Without sounding like an audiophile (which I'm not) I did think there was something missing, turns out it was 15001Hz and above.....
