Because it's a scene release and thereby have to follow the scene rules which says that CD-rips (and vinyl) have to be VBR.

It's like that because that's just how the scene originally did things, and there isn't any reason to change it now. Proper scene groups know what they're doing - at least they had better know - and a *proper* VBR has pretty damn close to no noticeable sound difference in comparison to 320CBR. The only real difference would be overall release size.

Quality music, but not real Ophidian style. I prefer when he make dark, industrial tracks. But one more i say its a quality album.

This is what i waited for since 2 years! even though he said he wouldn't go too broadband i am amazed by the diversity on this album. Dark stuff, industrial stuff and melodic mainstyle. Even some amazing symbiosis between them like in The Void. Not to mention the superior production quality. Cannot understand people who think it's too mainstream. ok, stuff like the viper remix was supposed to be shit but i doubt that you can show me another album, that sounds even close to Between the candle and the star.
